Piñata Making: Making More

From the top: The beginnings of a platypus, a possum, and a spotted quoll. Below, painting the possum and quoll, a new way of attaching the nylon line (threading it through with a needle) and a tail.

During the making of these objects, the process is constantly evolving as I think of and experiment with new ways of approaching the making certain elements of making. For example, the threading of the nylon line, this time performed after painting the piñatas and done with a big sewing needle rather than by cutting holes in the piñatas and trying to manipulate the line so that it finally emerges from the other hole.
