If you’ll forgive my gratuitous use of Instagram filters, here are some photos from today. The first image shows the offcuts of hole-punched woodgrain-printed and gouache-painted Hosho paper, the second image shows the tiny circles (which I will use as a grisly confetti for my native animal piñatas) punched from the paper and the third image shows both of the previous things as well as two tiny linocuts I cut this afternoon. The linocuts depict two native, endangered butterfly species from Victoria, Australia. These two butterflies each only have about a 3cm wingspan and I want to print them actual-size so the plates are tiny! I’m looking forward to proof printing them in the next couple of days…
